Please let me share my experience with one of their salesmen named Brian Oberlander whom I bought a used car from through e-bay. Below is a synposis of events and my letter to Craig who is the only person to write me back, except for the e-mail from Brian. This is not intended for minors, but I feel a disservice to what was actualy written by Brian is being missed by your "grammar checker". Feel free to post this and contact me, or ask if I can be of further help....I'm a Vietnam Vet and will gladly take on another war with an icehole like this. I'd really like to see the un-edited version posted. Brian, the ratchet just went up another clcik. Craig, Thank you for your reply. This is the first I’ve heard from anyone at the “Rohrman Auto Group.” Please let me fill you in on the current dispute with a member of your organization. I’ll include a time line and copies of any e-mails exchanged by all parties concerned up to this point, to help bring you up to speed on where we stand. I have all of this information saved and documented should you like un-altered, dated paper copies. To save you a long download, please click here eBay Motors: Chevrolet : Blazer (item 4565630144 end time Aug-02-05 19:31:09 PDT) for the listing posted on e-bay by your salesman Brian Oberlander, clearly showing your dealership in the background, and it being the same place I picked up and paid for the vehicle. If this link does not work, I can send you the entire web page which I have saved. Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with the listing. This view shows confirmation on my part of the purchase of, and the price we agreed to pay for the vehicle in the posted condition. The actual pick up date in IL. was Saturday Aug. the 6th, but my cashiers check didn’t hit the bank until the following Monday, the 8th. Please note that we drove approximately 360 miles one way to purchase the vehicle, and it was paid for by my 19 year old son with my guidance. At this point please note that the Blazer is listed as “drives and runs good.” I never mentioned in my e-bay feedback that started this dispute the following: We blew a left front tire going through Milwaukee, which had a plug in it that was still wet with sealer when it was pulled off of the rim. The same tire had a cord separation bulge on the inside that was hidden from a walk around view, but at that point the tire was junk anyway. That the vehicle did not drive good, as stated in the above description, and pulled severely to the right. Or that the driver’s seat upholstery was severely separated along most of the stitched seams. Despite Brian’s glowing reviews and obvious misrepresentation of the obvious, my son bought it as is, because we committed to buy a vehicle off of a major Midwest leader in used car sales, and trusted in the salesman’s description. Total cost for all new ball joints, tie rod ends, front -end alignment and new tires,…over $1,000. The average rating for the condition of the tires was way overstated, but we were hoping they’d hold for the 360 mile drive back north. They didn’t. Your salesman knew we were from out of town, would be experiencing a long drive home, but sacrificed any safety concerns for a fast buck. He also knew we couldn’t come back to bitch,…so here I am. After driving 360 miles one way, we had committed to a purchase of the vehicle and brought a certified cashiers check, trusting in the described condition of the vehicle as posted by Brian. There were many misleading, inaccurate and flat out lies in that description. HOWEVER, none of the above has brought this dispute to where we now stand. Please read on. As I stated above, on August 4th, 2005 we committed to buy the vehicle, dive the 360 miles one way on a Saturday morning to meet Brian, and pay for and pick up the Blazer on Aug. 6th, 2005. This we did, and experienced the above described problems on our return. At the closing of the purchase, Brian gave us the paper temporary plate, we paid for, good for ten days, as described below or go here. http://www.sos.state.il.us/depts/vehicles/faq.html Not the 14 day plate he later states he gave us. There is no such thing for out of state residents. Brian assured us the title should be in our hands by the middle of the following week…..10 – 11th. ILLINOIS NON-RESIDENT IN-TRANSIT DRIVE-AWAY PERMIT - Residents of other states who buy a vehicle in Illinois and who do not have valid plates may obtain a Drive-Away Permit for driving the new vehicle from the place of sale to a destination outside Illinois. Second division vehicles with a Drive-Away Permit may operate only on empty weight. In addition, an Illinois resident moving out of Illinois may obtain a permit which is valid for 10 days from the date of sale. The permit may be obtained from a licensed Illinois vehicle dealer or from a Secretary of State facility. The fee for each permit is $6.00. The permit must be affixed to the lower right corner of the windshield (625 ILCS 5/3-402). Back home on Aug. 8th my check cleared your bank. I now have a vehicle that is 360 miles away from where we bought it, not in the condition described at e-bay, and I have 8 days left on the plate. It expires on Monday the 15th. From my MCI phone records, I indicate that I called Brian on Friday the 12th inquiring about where my title was, and informing him that the temporary paper plate would soon expire. He said he would mail me another 10 day plate by priority mail, and to expect it early the following week. It never came. I called again on the 17th, two days after the temporary plate had expired and he blamed it on the corporate office, and told me to call this number (847 884 6632), and she could take care of it. I called the number, talked to the woman, and she said the title was sitting on her desk and she’d get it “right out”. Let me ask you this question: why should I have to make three phone calls and spend my time to resolve an issue that should have been attended to by your salesman with a little follow up? I just pulled out all of my phone records, and can document all of these calls. Finally on Sat. August the 20th, 2005 my son received a clear Michigan title from your organization. He could not apply for a Michigan plate until the following Monday, the 22nd. That means that despite all of the efforts on our behalf to abide by the laws of both states, my son was driving on an invalid plate to get to work and back for at least 7 days. HOWEVER, that is not what has brought us to this current dispute. After going through all of the above tribulations with Brian, “The Bob Rohrman Super Store” and the wait, we settled for the vehicle he bought and paid for “as is”. We never asked for our money back at any time. Would you drive 360 miles to return a vehicle you couldn’t trust to get you there? On August 20th at 06:29 when the dust had settled and we were reviewing what we’d been through with Brian and the “Used car Super Store”, I went to my “e-bay feedback” and left my feedback for the transaction I’d been through…it was of course negative feedback. It can be viewed here: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=67beanfeild You’ll note that nowhere in my feedback did I directly attack Brian or your establishment. I simply stated I would never do business with you again. Brian’s feedback reply to my statement which was posted later in the evening at 11:56 can be viewed here. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=67beanfeild In Brian’s eye’s I’ve now become a moron for simply stating what happened…(and even giving you a grace day or two for the plates). Brian also states “I had a 14 day tag.” The above info from the official Ill. Web site shows this to be a lie. I really didn’t pay much attention to any of this feedback score stuff, until my son told me that Brian had called me a moron at the feedback section of e-bay. You’ll also note that everyone I’ve ever dealt with has nothing but positive entries about our transactions. You’ll also note that Brian Oberlander is no longer a registered e-bay member…maybe because of all of the negative feedback he’s recived. I do not take lightly being called a moron or any other name, when I’m simply being honest about events. After becoming aware of what he had posted in my feedback forum, I sent him the following e-mail. In this e-mail I felt compelled to voice my opinion of his character, after his name calling entry at e-bay. A user on eBay Motors has sent you a question regarding your listing. eBay Item Number : 4565630144 Message Sent : 11/14/2005 21:35:27 EST Users Email: ranwhite@jamadots.com

>From user: (beanfield67) Well I see you left negative feedback at e-bay for me. Just what I'd expect from a little yuppy snot nosed prick kid from the suburbs, who couldn't hold up to his end of the deal and blames someone else at the front office. Typical used car salesman greasbag. Bob ROARMAN and his super junk showromm ain't heard the last of this crap.....sleep well in the crap nest you made for yourself. Out of all my e-bay transactions, you left the only negative feedback....kinda' lets everyone know where you stand doesn't it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4565630144 I believe this reply to being called a moron, is concise and to the point, and contains no lies. Once I walked out the door of your “Super Store” and he had my cash, he could have cared less. He’s a fine representative for Bob Rohrman, but maybe typical of your salesmen. Your opinon? He then sent me the following e-mail in response. ----- Original Message ----- From: brian oberlander To: ranwhite@jamadots.com Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2005 1:52 AM Subject: Re: Question to seller regarding eBay Item #4565630144 harsh words for such a bitch like yourself. do you realize how long ago that was? you are a farging moron. i heard about your little bitch session with the bosses over there and they had asked me to do a favor and remove it for you. i was going to until i read this little e mail from you. maybe you should learn about respect when you want something done. listen here.... go back your trailer and cook up some meth for the kids out there, have some anal sex with a family member and sleep tight in your craphole you call home. by the way you can complain to anyone you want over there......CAUSE I DO NOT GIVE A FUCK!!!!!! they have no control over what i do. JUST REMEMBER IT WAS SOLD AS IS AS SHOWN IN CASE YOU WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CAR 6 MONTHS FROM NOW. GOOD NIGHT TRAILER TRASH!!!!!! Since he states you have no control over him, I’ll take this entire exercise as a waste of my time, but I’ll continue to express myself and my point of view to your management, relevant web sites and e-mail friends, because time is cheap and people like Brian need to be taken down. At this point I could care less if he removes his feedback reply. Those I deal with on e-bay, know and trust me and know who the jerk is. He also needs to learn how to add and subtract. The deal was made less than three months ago, not six. His grammar is terrible and he should learn how to use a spell checker and capitalize. Respect..?..he obviously has none for his bosses, nor his customers. My father owned a Chevy dealership back in the 60s when I was in Vietnam and through the 70s before he retired. He was a new and used car salesman for 50+ years. I know the business, and I have met many people like Brian…pathetic excuses who blame their failures in life on others, and wander the used car auctions looking for a scam. I wonder,..has he settled his chapter 7 settlement filled on 11/04/03 yet? Case 0334687 Coke is expensive and sometimes these bankruptcy settlement cases take a long time. Its also probably a major reason for his divorce. I’m glad to see he’s had no recent alcohol related arrests in recent years, at least in Illinois….the cops have gotten real tuff about that lately. What Brian fails to realize is, that his livelihood depends on his sales reputation and follow-up. Bob Rohrman’s reputation depends on the reputation of his salesmen who work for him. Brian is a very poor example. My reputation depends on my work ethic and performance in a totally different manner of livelihood, trusting the people I deal with,..and just plain old doing my nine to five thing are my score card. I can not be hurt by Brian, you or Bob Rohrman….my preformance is verified by my past job actions of 35 years….none of it on-line. However, if you’d like an overview of who I am and my history, just ask. Remember the old axiom, “please the customer”/ Brian never heard of it. At my feedback section of e-bay, there is a place to respond to negative feedback. I didn’t feel compelled to write a response. I simply added a link. To simplify your cyber travels, go here: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff136505.htm This is now posted as my reply to Brian Oberlander at the e-bay feedback forum. Your corporate headquarters also received this news yesterday. Please ask them for a copy of the letter I sent. My original request was for a removal of Brian’s posting at e-bay, and an apology for calling me a moron. Nobody responded. That request now simply sounds to simple. I didn’t start this dispute, I just stated the facts. Brian choose to go the name calling route….I can also do the same, but it is all too juvenile for my taste. I won’t call him a snot nosed punk anymore…I promise. Unless I hear some constructive solutions from your management and yourself…and I mean to include corporate, not just you and your Schaumburg good ol’ boysl…I’ll continue to spread the word about my treatment Oberlander. It is a simple matter to find dissatisfied Rohrman customers on-line, and encourage them to post their experiences at “Ripp-off.Com”, or better, simply build a devoted similar web site of my own. Even a moron living in a trailer can do it. Craig, thank you for your time and nothing personnel. Randy White Ps. A copy will also go to Indy and the other dealerships. This is not over till I decide it is, or he’s gone. There are many ways I can ratchet this up.
