I am looking for anyone that has had or knows about a VW just catching on fire. Our car is just over a year old. We where coming home saturday night and where going to stop by our local pub for a night cap. When we parked the car and got out we noticed some smoke coming out from under the hood. My Girlfriend said she just wanted to go home (2 blocks away) and take a look at the car. We started the car up backed out of our parking spot and started to pull ahead. In a matter of seconds all warning lights came on and the car started to stall. I pulled over to the side of the road and opened the hood. The engine had a small fire near the driverside close to the winshield. I called 911. The fire spread quickly to the whole engine. Even though the fire department arrived in a few minutes extensive damage was done. Since this happend late saturday night we have not had a chance to talk to anyone at the dealership.
