Same symptoms as the other VW's. Lights going out, problems with the Climatic controls, loss of power, engine lights going on and then bang, the car starts on fire. Thanks for your info on your recent loss. My jetta 2001 glx vr6 recently caught on fire at almost the same time and had the same symptoms as your vehicle. Please give me info on what Volkswagon and your insurance has done for you. My jetta burned on 8-6-02. It did the same thing that your car did. I would Like to Know if you are willing to trade statements on our vehicles so that we can pursue any legal actions incase volkswagon or our insurance tries to pull off this problem. So far I am still waiting on the outcome and my insurance agency thinks that there is no way that this car should just start fire. I also heard of two other incidents that this has happened and I'm still waiting for further info. I would love to give volkswagon a piece of my mind and show volkswagon how traumatizing a car fire can be. This should push them to want to reimburse us for the vehicle. as well as probably give us the deposit we spent on this piece of crap.
